Paddle to Waldringfield by Suzanne Wild

On the way to Waldringfield

Sunday 5th DCC paddle to Waldringfield

It was the perfect day to go out for a paddle - clear blue sunny skies, a gentle breeze and calm waters - which is probably why 21 of us turned up eager to get into our boats! The group glided along the river towards "The Maybush" pub at a relaxed pace, admiring the views and wildlife along the way - including a low flying incoming swan and for a lucky few one of the Deben seals even popped their head up. With the promise of chips and a refreshing drink, we hauled our craft ashore and had a lovely pit-stop at the pub before heading back towards Woodbridge as the sun was setting beautifully behind the trees. The water was like glass, it was warm and the tide was accommodating on both legs of the trip- overall it was an afternoon that was good for the soul.
